On Friday 25th August 2017, Bangkok Flight Services (BFS) organized ‘Suvarnabhumi Airport Cleaning 2017’ at the Bird Garden, Suvarnabhumi Airport to launch a trash collecting campaign and promote a good environment at the airport by collecting trash in 3 areas;
- Western Park of Passenger Terminal or the Bird Garden
- Eastern Park of Passenger Terminal or the Boat Garden
- Bus Terminal at Suvarnabhumi Airport
This event was very well received amongst participating organizations. There was a total of 180 staff participating from 11 various organizations from Suvarnabhumi Airport as follows;
- Bangkok Flight Services
- Bangkok Airways
- Bangkok Air Catering
- Airports of Thailand
- Aeronautical Radio of Thailand
- Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services
- King Power
- Thai Airways
- Asia Security Management
- Immigration Division 2
- Thailand Tourist Police Division
Ms. Somruthai Prasarttongosoth, Director of Bangkok Flight Services opened the ceremony and Mrs. Anocha Plinsut, Vice President Special affairs and Community Relations department of Airports of Thailand was representative to given the area and gave the closing speech.
Prior to collecting trash, there was a recreational activity. Then, the participants were divided into 3 groups from different organizations to help each other collect trash in 3 areas. After collecting trash, awards were presented to the winning team who had accumulated the heaviest weight in trash. This was followed by lunch where all the participants joined together.
This activity was well supported by Airports of Thailand, Bangkok Air Catering and Asia Security Management.
BFS hopes that this CSR activity will help create an environmental awareness of our workplace among the staffs working at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
